Non-Discriminatory Policy
St. Pius does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender or national origin in its educational programs, activities, or employment policies.
Priorities for Admission
Registration for students already enrolled at St. Pius Elementary for the coming Fall term takes place in January each year. Applications for Admission for children not yet enrolled (new students) takes place after Registration for current students. Both Registration and Application periods are open for one week, respectively. If at that time there are more applicants than available spaces, a waiting list is composed based on the first priority criteria listed below.
- Since St. Pius Elementary is operated by the Parish of St. Pius X, student vacancies will be filled giving first priority to:
children currently attending St. Pius Elementary School;
siblings of children currently attending St. Pius Elementary School;
children of St. Pius Elementary staff members;
children of parents/guardians who are registered members of St. Pius X Parish based on tenure in the parish;
children from a Catholic school;
children from other Catholic Parishes;
and the general public.
If multiple students meet the above priorities for admission, tenure in the St. Pius X parish will be the deciding factor in determining placement.
Application after Registration Deadline
All applications submitted after the January Registration period will be added to the waiting list giving preference to:
1. Siblings of transferred students enrolled at St. Pius;
2. Students transferred from out-of-town Catholic Schools.
All applications for admission must be filled out and timely submitted to the school, prior to a student being considered for enrollment. All applications submitted during the school year are subject to review by the St. Pius Admissions Review Committee. The purpose of this Review Committee is to ensure that the scope of the curriculum at St. Pius can meet each child’s needs. Upon the Committee’s recommendation and upon availability, enrollment will be offered to students.
A child entering St. Pius Elementary School must be the appropriate age on or before September 30th to be enrolled in preschool (3 or 4 years of age), kindergarten (5 years of age), or first grade (6 years of age). Revised 12/11/02 |
