| Rev. Steven C LeBlanc is a native of Abbeville, Louisiana born September 29, 1951
to Harold and Alberta Porter LeBlanc.
Father Steve attended Mount Carmel Elementary in Abbeville and one year of
Mount Carmel High School. For the remaining high school years, he
attended Immaculata Seminary and graduated in the Spring of 1969. His
first two years of college were at the University of Southwestern Louisiana
(1969-1971) while being in residence at Immaculata Seminary. From
1971-1973, Father Steve attended Holy Trinity Seminary in Dallas, Texas
while earning a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Dallas.
From 1973-1977, he attended Saint Meinrad School of Theology in Saint
Meinrad, IN, where he earned a Master of Divinity in Theology.
Father Steve was at Immaculate Conception Church in Jennings as a Deacon
during the summer of 1976 and later again in the Spring of 1977. He
was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Lafayette on May 20, 1977 by Bishop
Gerald Frey. He served as associate pastor at St. Genevieve Church in
Lafayette from 1977-1981, and at St. Edmond Church in Lafayette from
1981-1983. From 1983-1984 he was Pastor at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Lyons Point. From 1984 until March of 1995, Father
Steve was in Campus Ministry at Our Lady of Wisdom Church and Catholic
Student Center at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette.
From March of 1995 - January 1996 he was on temporary assignment as Chaplain
at the University Medical Center.
Father Steve was Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in New Iberia from
February of 1996 until June 2007. He was Chancellor at Catholic High
School in New Iberia from January 2001 - January 2007. He has been
serving on the Bishop's Developmental council for nine years.
Father Steve was appointed Pastor of St. Pius X Church in Lafayette,
Louisiana beginning July 2, 2007.
