Christian Doctrine is paramount to our school curriculum. It is a natural component of school life and is integrated into the daily activity of our classrooms.
Our program is modeled on the three dimensions of educational ministry of the Catholic Church: announce the message revealed by God which the Church proclaims, build fellowship in the life of the Holy Spirit, and give service to the Christian community (To Teach as Jesus Did, National Conference of Catholic Bishops). As part of the spirituality of St. Pius Elementary School, each day begins with school wide prayer. Prayer is continued during daily religion lessons and classes. Part of St. Pius’ tradition is to remind the faculty and students that they are always in the “Holy Presence of God” several times throughout the day. In addition to daily emphasis on Catholicism, students attend weekly worship, celebrate Church feast days, participate in service projects and partake in special events during the liturgical year.
