APPLYING TO ST. PIUS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR THE

2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR

 

When applying for admissions to St. Pius Elementary School, only applications completed and submitted online will be accepted.  Applications for the 2017-2018 school year can be accessed by the general public on Monday, October 17, 2016 by clicking on the ONLINE APPLICATIONS link on the bottom left of this page where you will be guided through how to set up an account and the application process that follows.  Please remember:  Applications are not considered complete until you have submitted your completed application, uploaded all required documents and paid the application fee.   When you have successfully completed the online application process, you will receive a confirmation email that your application has been received.

Wednesday, October 5, 2016         

      *Applications for Admissions for siblings of currently enrolled St. Pius students will be accepted.

Monday, October 17, 2016              

     *Applications for all other prospective St. Pius students accepted

Week of October 17, 2016               

     *Parents of prospective new PREK students will be notified of subsequent steps in the admissions process

Monday, November 11, 2016          

     *Deadline for PHASE I applications

Week of November 11, 2016           

     *Parents of prospective new KINDERGARTEN – 8th GRADE students will be notified of subsequent steps in the admissions process

Week of November 30, 2016          

     *Parents of students not receiving prior correspondence will receive notification about subsequent steps in the admission process.

Welcome to Prospective Parents from Donna Lemaire, Principal of St. Pius Elementary School

  To be considered for enrollment, in addition to the online application, the following documents must be uploaded and submitted.

 

*Copy of original State Birth Certificate
*Copy of original Baptismal Certificate
*Church Membership Letter
*Immunization Record (Must be recorded by physician on La. State Certification of Immunization Cards or be a printout from your child's physician)
*If parents are divorced or separated, a copy of the most recent legal custody documentation.

*If divorced or separated and copy of legal custody documentation is not available, a notarized letter signed by both parents stating custodial arrangements, approved emergency and transportation contacts must be provided.
*Developmental Pre-requisite Form for Prek and Kindergarten Applicants
*Application Signature Page signed by both parents


*IF APPLICANT IS CURRENTLY IN PREK-7TH GRADE:
  *Current Progress Reports and/or Report Cards from this school year
  *Progress Reports and/or Report Cards from all previous school years
  *All Discipline Records/Reports IF separate from Report Cards
  *Standardized Test Scores for applicants currently enrolled in 1st-7th grades

 

*IF APPLICABLE:
  *All evaluation documentation with medical and/or educational diagnoses
  *All IEPs (Individual Education Plan) and Service Plans
 

Please remember that failure to submit all of the required information and/or providing inaccurate information could result in losing eligibility for admission.

 

Placement on the waiting list will be determined according to the following Priority Status tiers:

Tier 1: Children who are currently enrolled
Tier 2: Siblings of currently enrolled students
Tier 3: Siblings or children of St. Pius Elementary School Alumni
Tier 4: Children of St. Pius Elementary staff members
Tier 5: Children of parents/guardians who are registered members of St. Pius X Parish based on tenure in the parish. (NOTE: To be considered a Parishioner, you must be an active and/or identifiable contributing parishioner for at least six months prior to the date of registration.  This determination is made by St. Pius X Church.)
Tier 6: Children from other Catholic schools
Tier 7: Children from other Catholic parishes
Tier 8: Children not meeting any of the aforementioned criteria
