5th/6th Grade Science Teacher for 2022-2023 School Year Needed

St. Pius Elementary School is looking for an energetic 5th/6th grade Science Teacher who is passionate about the field of science and excited about bringing hands-on, dynamic instruction and critical thinking skills acquired through lab experience to middle school students.  Experience teaching Next Generation Science Standards and experience using an online student platform, such as HMH Science Dimensions, is preferred.  

The right person for this job must:

  • Be able to provide a loving, nurturing environment for every child 
  • Be passionate about education
  • Have a growth mindset, collaborative spirit, and the willingness to belong and contribute to a learning, faith-centered community.
  • Be certified by the LA Department of Education, or if certified in states outside of  Louisiana, must meet the criteria of eligibility for Louisiana’s Out-Of-State (OS) certificate
  • Be experienced in the Google Suite of technology platforms for communication, collaboration and teaching.

Opening for Certified Third Grade Teacher Who Loves Mathematics

St. Pius Elementary School is now accepting applications for an energetic third grade teacher, with a passion for mathematics, who thrives on active, hands-on, student-centered instruction.  Applicants must be passionate about education and eager to journey with each of his/her students academically, socially-emotionally, and spiritually.  Persons applying for this position must be certified by the LA Department of Education and possess 1st - 5th grade or 1st - 8th grade credentials.

First Grade Teacher Position

for 2022-2023 School Year Available

St. Pius Elementary School is looking for a First Grade Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.  The 1st grade position will be filled by energetic, engaging teachers who wish to bring the presence of Christ to others through their instruction and interaction with students, their colleagues and St. Pius community at large.

  • Have an understanding of the social/ emotional needs of young children 
  • Have a working knowledge of the stages of child development and the implications in the primary classroom

Part-time Summer Help Needed

(BEGINNING JUNE 1, 2022)
 
St. Pius Elementary School is looking for part-time summer help to assist with annual facility organization, moving items in and out of classrooms, cleaning, dusting, pressure washing, playground maintenance, etc.  Persons interested in this position must be available beginning June 1st from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday through Friday.  (More information about work hours will be provided if hired.)  Persons applying for this position must be over 16 years of age, able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. pounds, able to work outdoors in the heat for extended periods and be self-motivated if given a task to complete.
