PreK 4 Teacher for 2021-2022 School Year

St. Pius Elementary School is looking for an enthusiastic PreK 4 teacher for the 2021-2022 school year.  The person filling this position must be certified by the LA Department of Education and passionate about bringing a positive experience to children entering school for the first time.  The individual applying for this position must value the school’s commitment to developmentally appropriate practices across academic, social and emotional development while providing a learning environment that is rigorous, yet remains responsive to the needs of the individual students through activities that are challenging, hands-on, inquiry-based and intentional, all the while fulfilling the school mission of “Bringing the presence of Christ to others.”  The teachers of St. Pius Elementary School provide an education that goes beyond what students know, understand and are able to do as they travel with each child on his/her journey academically, socially and spiritually.

Middle School Math Teacher for 2021-2022

 

St. Pius Elementary School is looking for an enthusiastic Middle School Math Teacher.  The applicant for this position must be certified by the Louisiana Department of Education to teach Middle School Math with either 4th-8th Math Credentials, 6th-12th Math Credentials, or 1st-8th Elementary Credentials.  The person filling this position must be passionate about the field of mathematics and excited to bring student-centered instruction to middle school math students beginning in August of 2021.

Part-Time Summer Help Needed

(BEGINNING JUNE 1, 2021)
 
St. Pius Elementary School is looking for part-time summer help to assist with annual facility organization, moving of items in and out of classrooms, playground maintenance, etc.  Persons interested in this position must be available from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. for the first three weeks of the summer beginning June 1st, then available as needed for the rest of the summer.  (More information about work hours will be provided if hired.)  Persons applying for this position must be over 16 years of age, able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. pounds, able to work outdoors in the heat for extended periods and be self-motivated if given a task to complete.

After School Extended Care Workers Needed For 2021-2022 School Year

St. Pius Elementary School of Lafayette, La. is looking for energetic, dependable young adults who are interested in working with the school’s After School program from 2:50 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  This position provides a great employment opportunity for college students that will not conflict with study or class time.  We are looking for employees, eager to begin work in early August 2021, who possess a love for working and playing with youth. 
 
Aftercare workers who wish to work and play with youth in grades PreK - 8  will spend the afternoons  supervising students during snack, homework and play times.  Workers will complete the Diocese of Lafayette’s Safe Environment certification process, offered through the school, before beginning work.   For additional information about this position, contact Eileen Green, Extended Care Supervisor, at eileen_green@stpiuselementary.org or, by phone, at 337-237-3139.   Applicants must be 18 years or older to qualify for employment.
