It’s Elective Time of Year! I love planning for the future! It gives a sense of normalcy and that things are getting better. Selecting an elective is exciting for students. They are able to learn based on their likes, interests, or desires to explore something new.
Below is the link to the Loom video that was sent to all fourth through seventh-grade students concerning electives for the 2020-2021 school session. Any student who was new to SPES this school year and who is next year’s fifth-grader, this is a new procedure for them. For returning students, this is a process that they have completed before. The video discusses locating course descriptors by grade level, directions for completing the survey, and important deadlines.
The elective survey must be completed on the parent’s RenWeb/FACTS account. The survey will open at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, and close at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020. All fifth through eighth-grade students (next school year’s grade level) must submit an elective course request. I’ve already had students inquiring about electives!
